Who CrazyFly are, and why the brand is unusual
CrazyFly (legally Crazy Fly s.r.o.) was founded in 1999 in Slovakia and has stayed a family business for more than 25 years. It started with a small workshop building kiteboards, then added kites, surfboards and hydrofoils. Today it runs a complete production cycle.
The key point: almost the whole kitesurfing industry outsources manufacturing to large factories in Asia, where orders from CrazyFly, its competitors and no-name brands may run on neighbouring lines. CrazyFly instead builds kites, boards, bars, foils and bindings under one roof in its own Slovak factory. That's rare — full control from choosing the material to the final inspection.
"Made in Europe": what it means on the water
An in-house factory isn't just marketing. In practice it shows up in what you hold:
Consistent quality between batches. CrazyFly tracks every production process and every batch of material, and finished products go through inspection and stress tests. When production is your own, quality doesn't drift between deliveries.
Carbon and premium materials. The brand is known for full-carbon twintips — the flagship Raptor LTD and Elite boards are built from carbon for lightness and response. CrazyFly sources materials from suppliers worldwide and tests them before they go into production.
Environmental standards. Manufacturing in the EU means complying with European environmental legislation — by the brand's account, with margin to spare.
CrazyFly kites: Sculp, Nuke and Hyper
The kite range is compact and easy to navigate — no dozen near-identical models. Three main canopies:
CrazyFly Sculp — the all-round freeride kite and the brand's best seller. A good first kite after school and a workhorse for most riders: predictable, stable, forgiving. The 2025 and 2026 versions are in stock, and the previous Sculp 2024 often comes discounted.
CrazyFly Nuke — the kite for strong wind and big jumps. If your goal is to boost and hang, look at the Nuke. Available as Nuke 2025 and Nuke 2026.
CrazyFly Hyper — a fast, high-aspect kite for experienced riders who like speed and aggressive freeride.

Kiteboards: from the affordable Rootz to the carbon Elite
Boards are CrazyFly's historic strength — it's where the brand began. The twintip range covers every level:
Entry level: Acton, Chill and Rootz — affordable, forgiving boards for learning and a first season.
Freeride: Raptor — the brand's best-known model, an all-round twintip for riding for the pleasure of it. There's a stiffer Raptor Extreme too.
Carbon / premium: Raptor LTD and the bright Raptor LTD Neon — full-carbon versions of the Raptor. Top of the range is the Elite V, the flagship carbon board for riders who want maximum response.

How to choose CrazyFly gear for your level
Beginner / first season. The all-round Sculp plus an affordable Acton, Chill or Rootz board. That's enough to get confident on the water without overspending.
Confident freerider. Sculp plus a Raptor (or the carbon Raptor LTD if you want lightness and response). Add Lock II bindings for precise control.
Jumping and strong wind. The Nuke kite with a stiff Raptor Extreme or the flagship Elite V.

The Raptor is the brand's all-round freeride twintip. The Raptor LTD is its full-carbon version: lighter, more responsive and more premium in finish. If you ride often and want a lively, light board, take the LTD; for starting out and cruising, the standard Raptor is plenty.

The CrazyFly Nuke is the model built around strong wind and high jumps. Paired with a stiff board like the Raptor Extreme or the carbon Elite V, it makes a setup for aggressive riding and boosting.
