Answered by the IKO instructors at K1 — about learning, the spot, gear and planning your trip.
Yes. We teach complete beginners to the IKO standard: theory, safety systems, kite control on the beach, then body-drag and your first water start. Most students ride their first metres within the basic course.
Most people need 8–15 hours. After the Intermediate course you can water-start confidently and hold a direction; the full 15-hour course adds riding upwind, turns and independence on the spot.
No. Kite, control bar, board, harness, helmet, impact vest and radio are all included in the lesson price. After the course we can help you choose your own setup.
Yes. Our instructors teach in both English and Russian, so international guests are fully covered.
We teach kitesurfing from age 12, with no upper age limit. For the kids' surf camp we take children from age 7.
Ordinary fitness is enough — the harness takes the pull, not your arms. We adapt the pace of the course to you.
The main season runs October to April: the northeast monsoon brings steady wind of roughly 12–18 m/s on more than 25 days a month, with water at +26…+28 °C. In summer the wind is gentler — better for surfing, SUP and relaxed lessons.
No. The sea in Mui Ne stays around +26…+28 °C year-round, so shorts and a rash guard are enough. We provide a sun rash guard if you need one.
Our station sits on Sandunes beach: a sandy bottom, a gradual entry and space to ride. It suits beginners, and there are wave spots nearby for more experienced riders.
The lesson moves at no extra cost. We check the forecast together the day before — our webcam and wind sensor run live at the spot.
Yes. In Mui Ne both are available, so many guests take two disciplines on one trip. We'll build a schedule around the wind and the waves.
Rooms and villas at Sandunes Beach Resort are a two-minute walk from our station — you step out, grab your gear from storage and you're on the water. We also offer stay + lessons packages.
Yes. We offer gear storage at the Mui Ne station with security, rinsing and drying, a compressor and beach service. Packages run from a single day to a full year.
Yes — kites, boards, harnesses, wings, foils and SUPs are available to rent by the hour, day or week. Independent rental requires that you can ride upwind and self-rescue; otherwise we'll ride with an instructor.
Yes. We're an official dealer for Ozone, Flysurfer, F-One, CrazyFly and other brands, and ship worldwide — DHL Express, FedEx and UPS to Europe and the USA, CDEK across Russia.
Kitesurfing is an extreme sport, so we recommend taking out sports insurance covering medical costs. Insurance of the learning equipment itself is already included in the lessons.
