Frequently asked questions
What is wingfoil and how is it different from kite and windsurf?
Wingfoil is a hand-held inflatable wing plus a board with an underwater foil. Unlike a kite, the wing isn't attached to your body (you can just let go); unlike windsurf, there's no mast or sail fixed to the board. At speed the foil lifts the board above the water — you fly almost silently and spray-free.
Is wingfoil hard to learn, and how long does it take?
Most people get basic wing control and moving across the water in 3–6 hours; getting up on the foil usually happens within a course of a few lessons. The exact pace depends on your water experience and the wind.
Do I need surfing or kite experience?
No, we teach from scratch. But balance from surfing/SUP or experience from kite/windsurf helps you progress faster.
What wind do you need for wingfoil?
You can start in light to moderate wind — that's one of the advantages of wingfoil. We pick the right window from the forecast to match your level.
Do I need my own gear?
No. We provide the wing, board, foil and vest — everything is included in the lesson. After the course we can help you choose your own set.
How much do wingfoil lessons in Mui Ne cost?
A one-hour private lesson is €60. Courses: "First wing" (3 h) €170, "Up on foil" (6 h) €320, and the full ~10-hour course to independent riding €500. Wing, board, foil and equipment insurance are included.
