Description

The Hyper is a big, five-strut, high-aspect big air kite. Where the Nuke is about speed and loops, the Hyper is about height and hangtime: it loads up as you sheet in, pulls constantly and jumps predictably.

The Delta Bow shape blends delta and bow — plenty of depower, boosting power on demand, automatic relaunch and maximum airtime. Control is easy, with low to medium bar pressure.

Five struts are a necessity rather than a luxury here. Delta Bow outlines have a long wingspan and the canopy has to hold its profile under load, which is exactly what decides a fast big air jump. The heavy-duty Dacron frame on the leading edge and wingtips provides the rigidity, while TerTex in strategic areas takes weight back out.

The bridle supports the leading edge at twelve points and is tuned around the Savvy bar: steady feedback, faster turning, lighter pressure. One line carries a bungee inside that helps relaunch in light wind and supports the wingtip area, so the kite stays composed when overpowered and in gusts.

Who it is not for. The Hyper is not a wave kite and not an unhooked freestyle kite — the long span and high aspect work against both. For loops and new school, CrazyFly build the Nuke. You choose a Hyper for altitude.

Picking a size. Five sizes: 7m 15-40 knots, 9m 12-33, 10m 11-28, 12m 10-24, 15m 9-20. The 15m is designed and bridled separately for light wind, which makes it a genuine option for Mui Ne in the shoulder season.

If you are deciding between the 12m and the 15m for a light-wind spot, write to us — that is the one question we get asked about the Hyper every season. Official CrazyFly dealer, worldwide shipping.

“We ride this gear ourselves and teach on it. The main thing is picking the size for your weight and wind: bigger in light wind, smaller when it blows. If you're unsure, message us — we'll put together an honest setup, no upselling.”
