Both surf and kite are available in Mui Ne year-round — there's a high and a low season. We pick the exact window by the wave; surf depends on the swell.

Frequently asked questions
How much do surfing lessons in Vietnam cost?
Private: 1 hour — €50, the 3+2 course — €100, a 9-hour course with unlimited rental — €300. In a mini-group (2 people): 1 hour — €45, 2 hours — €70, a 7-hour course with unlimited rental — €210. Board and equipment rental is already included.
Can I learn to surf from scratch?
Yes. We start with theory and a beach warm-up, then catch your first white-water waves on safe soft-top boards. Most people stand up on the board during their very first lessons.
When is the best season to surf in Mui Ne?
You can surf year-round — the water is warm (+26…+28 °C), no wetsuit needed. The high season runs November to March (NE monsoon) with steadier 1–2 m waves; in the low season (April–October) the surf is gentler and comes and goes, which is great for kids and beginners.
Do I need my own board to learn?
No. We provide the board and all equipment — surfboard rental is included in the lesson price. After the course we can help you choose your own board.
From what age is the kids' surf camp and how does it run?
We take children from age 7 in a group of 3–10 under an instructor's supervision. We start with theory and a beach warm-up, then catch the first white-water waves on soft boards. The price depends on group size: from €30 per child per day and from €130 for a weekly package (10 hours, board rental and photo/video).
What ages and levels do you teach?
We teach both children and adults, at any level — from a first lesson to advanced manoeuvres. No special fitness is required; we adapt the programme to you.
Is there a high and low season for surfing in Mui Ne?
You can surf year-round. High season is November to March (northeast monsoon): the waves are steadier and larger, 1–2 metres, suitable for all levels. In the low season, April to October, the surf is softer and comes and goes — a great time for kids and beginners. The water is warm all year, no wetsuit needed.
Which beaches and spots do you run lessons at?
Our main teaching spot is Malibu Beach: a consistent sandy-bottom break, perfect for first waves. For the very first lessons and children we choose calm, gentle waves (for example Suoi Nuoc bay), and take confident riders to more serious breaks such as Little Buddha. We always pick the spot to match your level and the wave on the day.
What should I bring to a surf lesson?
Just swimwear, a towel, water-resistant sunscreen (reef-safe is best) and water. We provide the board, a sun rash guard and all equipment. No wetsuit needed — the water is warm year-round.
Do I need to know how to swim to learn surfing?
Yes, basic swimming is needed — lessons take place in the ocean. You don't need to swim long distances: we catch the first waves in shallow water near the shore on soft boards, with the instructor beside you at all times.
How many lessons before I can stand up?
Most beginners stand up and ride their first white-water waves on the first or second lesson. Confident independent riding on green waves comes over a course of several lessons — we set the pace to suit you.
How safe is it to learn surfing with K1?
We start with theory and a beach warm-up, ride soft-top boards, and the instructor is in the water right beside you. We choose the spot and time to match your level and the day's waves. We recommend taking out sports insurance — we'll advise which suits.
Can I combine surfing and kitesurfing on one trip?
Yes. In Mui Ne both surf and kite are available year-round, so many guests take both disciplines on one trip. We'll build a convenient schedule around the weather and your goals.
Do you take photos and video of the lesson?
Yes, on request we film your riding — it helps with technique review and makes a nice memento. In the kids' surf camp photos and video are already included in the package.
What if there's no wave on the day of my lesson?
We pick the wave and weather window in advance from the forecast. If conditions aren't suitable, we'll move the lesson to a convenient time or choose another spot. Contact us before your trip and we'll help you plan.
