CrazyFly Sculp 2026 Kite

CrazyFly calls the Sculp "one world, one kite", and the range is built so that one or two sizes carry you through the season — old school, freestyle, kite loops, big air, foiling.

The shape is a Hybrid Delta Bow. The designers blended flat delta and bow: delta gives easy relaunch and pivotal turning, bow gives predictable power and smooth sheeting. Three struts instead of five cut weight without losing canopy tension — the outline is compact enough that three do the job.

The 2026 change that matters is TerTex. It is twice as strong as CrazyFly's own Triplex triple ripstop and forty percent lighter than the Dacron it replaces, and it now sits on the side struts, the wingtips and over the central strut. The arithmetic is simple: a lighter kite starts earlier in light wind, moves faster through the window and relaunches more easily. The bottom of the range dropped — the 14m now flies from 9 knots.

The bridle supports the leading edge at twelve points. Two lines carry bungees inside. The first sits near the wingtip and works during relaunch: the kite almost wants to fly up by itself at the edge of the window. The second connects to the steering line and adds an attachment point on the wingtip, so the canopy stays composed in gusts and when overpowered. That line also gives you two settings. On the soft knot the bar is lighter, turning is slower, the kite forgives more. On the hard knot the bar loads up, the kite gets sharper and turns faster.

Who it is not for. The Sculp is neither a dedicated wave kite nor a pure big-air weapon. If you ride waves exclusively and live for drift, look at specialist models; if you chase maximum height, CrazyFly builds the Nuke for that. The Sculp wins when you want one kite for everything.

Picking a size. Wind ranges across the line: 7m 18-40 knots, 8m 16-38, 9m 14-34, 10m 13-30, 12m 10-26, 14m 9-20. A 75-85 kg rider in Mui Ne is usually covered by a 9m and a 12m. The kite is tuned around the CrazyFly Savvy bar, which gives the cleanest feedback.
