Description

CrazyFly says the Cruiser LW "was, is and always will be" its light-wind machine, and it is the earliest-planing board in the range.

Built for low wind. A time-proven outline with rounded tips maximises surface area. The flat rocker and inverted outline give strong light-wind performance, and Step Cap deck technology adds stiffness so the board keeps its designed rocker even in ultra-light wind.

Upwind. The fins are asymmetric — on the heel edge of the tips and in the centre — so they stay in the water and keep the board tracking upwind when you're riding on minimal power.

Comfort. A balanced medium flex (600 and 570 on CrazyFly's 0–1000 scale) keeps it comfortable in chop. It is built with a CNC wood core, multiaxial fibreglass, Fusion sidewalls, invisible inserts and carbon fins.

Numbers. 154x44 weighs 3.5 kg, 160x44 weighs 3.7 kg. Stance 37 or 41 cm.

Who it is not for. It is a specialist for light days, not a board for strong wind, chop or freestyle. If you want the same outline lighter and livelier, the carbon Slicer saves around half a kilo at a higher price. If light wind is your everyday condition, a hydrofoil gets you riding in even less.

Choosing. The 160 gives the most low-end for heavier riders; the 154 is a little easier to handle. Send us your weight and typical wind.

K1 instructor's take
“We ride this gear ourselves and teach on it. The main thing is picking the size for your weight and wind: bigger in light wind, smaller when it blows. If you're unsure, message us — we'll put together an honest setup, no upselling.”
