Description
The Savvy is CrazyFly's control bar and, according to the brand, the only bar made in Europe. It was designed to be safe, durable and easy to keep running for many seasons.
Safety. It is a four-line system with no extra safety line. When you push the bright red SCR (Simple Click Reload) quick release, one of the front lines acts as the safety line and flags the kite out completely, with no pressure on the other front line, leaving the kite stable and powerless. To reload, you just click it back in.
Two bars in one. Width adjusters hidden in the bar ends switch the bar between 45 and 50 cm in seconds. CrazyFly specifies 45 cm for 7–10 m kites and 50 cm for 12–15 m.
Built to last. Every part is quick to replace, and spare centre inserts (Delrin) are included. Both power lines run through heavy-duty PU tubes so they don't wear or stick when sheeting. The auto swivel untwists the front lines: after a loop, spin the bar back for the back lines and pull it down to untwist the front. The grip is Italian outdoor leather on an ergonomic delta shape that reduces hand fatigue, and the depower clam cleat sits above the bar with a Velcro tidy.
Compatibility. Lines are low-stretch Liros, made in Germany, 4 x 24 m. The front-line Y is 6 m from the bar, which suits kites with pulleys or sliders and fixed-bridle kites with a Y 3–9 m from the bar. It is fully compatible with CrazyFly kites from 2023 onward; with 2022 and older CrazyFly kites, use it only up to 12 m. A 20 cm freeride chicken loop is standard; a 25 cm freestyle loop is optional.
Who it is not for. If you want to ride shorter lines or tune line length, choose the Savvy Bar XT with 18 m + 4 m + 2 m lines.
