K1 surf and kite school in Mui Ne

K1 — an IKO surf & kite school in Mui Ne since 2006

We teach kitesurfing to the IKO standard, plus surfing, wingfoil and SUP. We rent and repair gear, run a shop, and organise trips — in English and Russian.

What we stand for

IKO standard

Kitesurfing is taught to the International Kiteboarding Organization standard — one methodology, one set of safety rules, and an international certificate at the end of the course.

Safety first

The school runs its own rescue service. Instructors assess the conditions themselves, lessons use radio helmets and the learning equipment is insured.

Several disciplines

Kitesurfing, surfing, wingfoil, SUP and snowkiting in winter — plus rental, repair and a gear shop under one roof.

English and Russian

Our instructors work in both languages, so international guests and Russian-speaking students are equally at home.

How it started

2005

Sergey Alesenko, the school's founder, discovers kiting in the mountains — the idea of a “mobile ski lift” that pulls you uphill without a ticket.

2006

K1 begins teaching. What started as a personal passion turns into a school.

Today

A surf & kite centre in Mui Ne, Vietnam, plus lessons in Russia and snowkite trips in winter — a school, a station and a shop.

Our mission is simple: make kiteboarding accessible, teach it safely and properly, and grow a community of people who genuinely love the water. Everything else — the shop, the station, the rental fleet — exists to support that.

Frequently asked questions

How long has K1 been running?

The school has been teaching since 2006. It grew out of founder Sergey Alesenko's own passion for kiting, which started in 2005.

What is IKO certification?

IKO is the International Kiteboarding Organization — the global standard for teaching kitesurfing. An IKO instructor follows a single methodology and safety framework, and students receive an international level certificate at the end of the course.

Where is the school based?

Our main station is in Mui Ne, Vietnam, on Sandunes beach — the high season runs October to April. We also teach in Russia in summer and run snowkite trips in winter.

What can I learn at K1?

Kitesurfing (to IKO standard), surfing, wingfoil, SUP and snowkiting. We also rent and repair gear and run a shop with equipment from Ozone, Flysurfer, F-One, CrazyFly and other brands.
