Ozone Contact Water V5 Control bar

The Contact Water V5 is the bar most Ozone inflatable riders fly — a clean, simple control system with an easy trim and Ozone's Click-In Loop quick release.

The release. You push the handle away to release; to reload, the mechanism positions itself and you simply click the loop back in, the way you click in a seatbelt. Ozone designed it to be so intuitive that testing the release before every session becomes second nature. The Click-In Loop is certified to AFNOR NF S52-503. Your leash attaches to the flag-out eyelet on the stainless swivel ring, so when you release, the kite flags out and drops. Experienced riders who unhook can use expert mode.

Lines and bar. The colour-coded flying lines are bio-based Dyneema — same performance as conventional Dyneema, around 90% lower carbon footprint — rated 500 kg front and 300 kg back, cut, pre-stretched and spliced in Ozone's own factory, with modular extensions on removable pigtails. The 3D-pressed EVA grip is colour-coded to the lines, a stainless pin runs through the bar for the leader lines, the centre piece is CNC aluminium, the depower line is PU-covered against wear, and the soft bar ends can be adjusted via knots inside the floats. The loop comes in small, medium and large.

Which one. Available as 38cm or 45cm with 25m lines; the shorter bar suits smaller kites, the longer one bigger kites. If you fly foil kites, take the Foil Contact Water V5 with a brake handle. Riders with a short reach on small kites should look at the Compact V5.
