Description
The Ignition V3 is where kiting starts. It is a 3-line trainer kite, smooth and stable with steady response, designed to teach the wind window and kite control before you ever put on a harness — the skills that make every later step into kitesurfing, snowkiting or landboarding easier.
It lands itself. The Ignition uses Ozone's Internal Landing and Re-Launch System together with a wrist leash. If the kite pulls too hard or you are unsure, you simply let go of the bar: the kite lands automatically with minimal power and waits until you are ready to relaunch. That is what lets beginners practise alone without fear.
The canopy is OzTex 40D, the durable material Ozone uses on its standard snowkites, so it copes with being crashed and dragged across sand and snow. Like everything Ozone makes, it is designed in their own OZ-CAD software and built in their own factory with hand-checked quality control.
Choosing a size. Ozone recommends the 2m or 2.5m for the best balance of performance and power. Go smaller if your local wind is strong and bigger if it is usually light. For children, Ozone recommends the 1.5m in winds under 10 knots, always with careful adult supervision.
Who it is not for. This is a trainer, not a kite for riding. Once you can fly it confidently, the next step is a lesson on a 4-line inflatable with an instructor. If you are buying for a school that wants students on the water on a depower kite from day one, the inflatable Uno V2 is the better fit.
