Description
The Uno V2 is a small inflatable kite with a real depower system — the step between a trainer and a full-size kite. Ozone built it simple, robust and affordable, and pitches it as an ideal kitesurf trainer for schools and a fun extra in a family quiver to get friends into the sport. It packs small enough to live in the car.
Why schools like it. The Uno flies on Ozone's standard kitesurf control system. Students learn the basics of flying an inflatable — including how the release systems work — on a small kite with less power, and the bar they learn on is the same one they will use on bigger kites. Ozone recommends 15m to 25m lines. It can also be used for first lessons on land, and no previous kite experience is needed when a competent kiter or instructor is with you.
Not just for the beach. For lighter riders under 45 kg, the Uno is also a proper kite for riding on the water — which makes it a good first kite for kids and small teenagers.
The construction borrows from Ozone's full-size inflatables: a rip-stop canopy with an ultra-flex coating for smoother feedback in gusts, tough rip-stop Dacron on the leading edge and struts, Direct Connect struts, Fast Flow one-pump inflation with sealing clips, a high-volume valve, anti-snag line deflectors, and colour-coded line connectors.
Who it is not for. Adults above about 45 kg will not ride on the water with an Uno — for them it stays a land and teaching tool. If you only want to learn kite control at home, the cheaper 3-line Ignition V3 is enough.
Sizes. 2.5m, 4m and 6m, all with enough power for beginners to progress to the next level.
