Ozone Hyperlink V4 Kite

The Hyperlink V4 is the foil kite for riders coming from inflatables. Ozone tuned its steering to feel familiar, so the move to a foil kite takes days, not weeks. It covers freeride, hydrofoil, boosting and float, unhooked riding and backcountry snow missions — one canopy, very different days.

Two modes in one kite. It ships in closed-cell 4-line mode with Ozone's front-line flag-out release, which is the recommended setup on water. A dedicated inflate valve lets you convert it to open-cell 5-line mode, which Ozone recommends as the safest and most versatile setup on snow.

The V4 changes came from the mountains. Ozone found the V3 could tire your arms on long days, so the V4 has lower bar pressure and lighter steering, plus a reduced aspect ratio that makes it turn faster. On water the quicker handling makes it easier to send for big jumps; on snow it accelerates nicely through loops and stays very stable with good depower. Construction follows Ozone's double-surface recipe: double rip-stop nylon with a water-shedding coating, leading-edge battens, transverse sail shaping, internal straps and diagonals, sheathed Dyneema bridles and Ronstan Orbit pulleys.

Who it is not for. Ozone says it plainly: the Hyperlink is not as fast as your inflatable. If you want maximum speed and big-air power from a foil kite, look at the Mach1. If you ride only on water and never fly foil kites, an inflatable will be simpler to launch and land on your own.
