Description
The Flux V2 Ultra-X sits at the top of Ozone's freeride wing range. In the Fly → Flow V2 → Flux V2 → Flux V2 Ultra-X order it comes last, and the difference from the standard Flux V2 mirrors the Edge VT and Edge VT Ultra-X kites: the airframe here is Aluula rather than dacron.
What Aluula gives you. It is markedly stiffer and lighter than dacron. A stiff airframe barely breathes under load, so the wing holds its shape at any speed and passes everything happening in the water and wind straight to your hands. Ozone call it the purest sense of freeride freedom with precision control, and in this case the phrase is close to the truth — you feel the difference within minutes.
What you get on the water. Real acceleration, a high top-end and upwind performance a level above. Everything the Flux V2 does, sharper and with more headroom.
What it costs you. Money, and care. Aluula is an expensive material and needs more consideration than dacron: it doesn't take kindly to abrasion on rocks or rough handling on the beach.
Best suited to experienced riders who have already hit the ceiling of the standard Flux and know why they want it stiffer. For a first or second wing this is overkill — start with the Fly or the Flow V2.
