Description
The FRIGATE is F-One's first pocket wing — a single-skin wing you fly to get upwind quickly, then stow while you ride the bumps on a long downwind. No paddle and no car shuttle needed.
Easy to use. Pocket winging can feel technical, so F-One designed the FRIGATE to be stable, intuitive and comfortable, with exceptional upwind performance. Its aerodynamics produce forward pull that helps you go upwind, with immediate power and efficient acceleration — which also makes smaller foils usable.
Weight. The wing alone weighs 0.30 kg (1.9 m²) to 0.78 kg (6.5 m²); with the vertical bar, 0.43 to 0.93 kg. Sizes to 4.0 m² use a 29 cm bar, larger ones 41 cm.
Sizes and wind. 1.9 m² 28+ knots, 2.5 24–34+, 3.0 20–33, 3.5 18–30, 4.0 16–25, 4.7 14–22, 5.5 12–20, 6.5 10–18.
Who it is not for. Pocket wings are for riders who can already foil and want to downwind. For learning or everyday wing foiling, take a conventional wing. If you want a softer, more forgiving pocket wing, F-One's QUEST trades some speed for comfort.
