Description

The NXS is an all-round kite CORE assembled out of four of their own models: it draws on the Nexus, the Pace, the Section and the Xlite. The result is not a compromise but its own kite, one that deliberately lives between disciplines — freeride, wave and foil.

The new ExoTex 3 leading edge. This is CORE's latest dacron, with increased torsional capacity while holding its shape. In practice: calm, controlled flight, and bar input translated precisely even in gusty wind and under load. In waves it delivers exactly what is scarcest there — predictability.

Three struts and weight. Light ExoTex Light struts, CoreTex 2 canopy. Less mass means better drift, livelier steering and a freer feel in the air. That low weight is precisely why the NXS works on a foil: it flies along quietly and is instantly there when you need it.

Moderate aspect ratio is a choice, not a saving. CORE state plainly that they chose control and predictability over raw power from a stretched outline. Hence the even delivery of pull in waves and in shifting conditions.

The Section's surf profile. The surf profile is inherited from their wave model: gentle power delivery and strong drift. Paired with the reactive tips, the kite behaves as well through flowing arcs as through aggressive cutbacks.

An honest comparison — the maker makes it themselves. Against the Nexus, the NXS jumps markedly better with cleaner landings, without losing its playful all-round character. Against the Pace it wins in waves and on foil: more agility and noticeably better drift.

Who it is not for. Anyone here for maximum height and powerful loops. That is the Pace Pro 2 or the XR Pro 2 — a different job and a different demand on the rider.

Nine sizes. 5 m: 22-42 knots, 6 m: 20-38, 7 m: 17-35, 8 m: 15-33, 9 m: 13-30, 10 m: 12-28, 11 m: 11-26, 12 m: 10-24, 13.5 m: 9-22 knots. That spacing lets you build a precise quiver for your weight.

For Mui Ne, where one trip can bring waves, flat water and foil days, this is one of the most sensible choices in the range. Official CORE dealer, worldwide shipping.
