Description

The Nexus 4 is the do-everything kite that started CORE's all-rounder category. It covers waves, freeride, freestyle and foiling — beating a specialist at none of them, and failing at none either.

Three things define it. Softer power delivery: it loads progressively rather than yanking, which is why people ride it daily. Drift: in waves it follows you downwind instead of pulling you off your line, so you can actually surf rather than fight. And fast turning, which is what makes it work for freestyle.

Know where it sits in the range before buying. Above it is the NXS — the same crossover class but with noticeably stronger boosting, cleaner landings and an ExoTex 3 leading edge. Take the Nexus 4 when forgiveness and value matter most; take the NXS when the jump does.

Bar: works with the Sensor 4 and Sensor 4S.

Who it isn't for. Big air and megaloops have the XR X and XR Pro 2 — an all-rounder loses on every count there. Pure wakestyle wants different geometry. And if you already boost confidently and want one kite, look at the NXS: that's exactly its brief.

K1 instructor's take
“We ride this gear ourselves and teach on it. The main thing is picking the size for your weight and wind: bigger in light wind, smaller when it blows. If you're unsure, message us — we'll put together an honest setup, no upselling.”
