Description

The Section is the only kite in the CORE range built specifically for waves, and it was matched to the brand's own surfboards. The stated range runs from small surf to well overhead, plus strapless freestyle and foiling.

The Future-C shape with moderate aspect ratio is a trade in favour of control. It flies fast and responds directly, and — more important in waves — stays noticeable through every turn: you always know where it is without looking up.

Drift is the reason a wave kite exists at all. When you sheet out and ride the wave, the kite has to travel downwind with you rather than pull you off your line. CORE lists that as the Section's defining trait, and it's what the lighter Xlite was built on.

ExoTex 2 airframe: high tensile strength at low weight through an annealing and coating process.

Who it isn't for. Jumping and big air want the XR X or Pace Pro 2 — a wave kite loses on height. And it isn't a first kite: the Section is fast and asks for attention to where the canopy sits.

K1 instructor's take
“We ride this gear ourselves and teach on it. The main thing is picking the size for your weight and wind: bigger in light wind, smaller when it blows. If you're unsure, message us — we'll put together an honest setup, no upselling.”
