The Pace Pro 2 is a big air kite for riders who jump high and loop deliberately. The second generation differs from the first in one fundamental decision: five struts instead of three.
Why two extra struts. More struts mean more boosting power, markedly higher stability at the top of the range, a fuller feel on the bridle and calm behaviour in the critical phases of a jump. The usual cost is a heavier kite that steers slower. CORE paid that cost in materials instead: an Aluula leading edge and light ExoTex Light struts. The added weight is almost entirely offset, and the kite stays fast through the turn.
Second Lift — the reason it exists. After take-off the kite delivers a second carrying phase that holds you up longer and buys you time. In modern big air that extra lift is what decides whether the move is clean and the landing safe.
The character of the pop. The Pace Pro 2 sits closer to the XR Pro but deliberately does not copy its sheet-and-go character. This is loaded pop: you charge the kite before take-off and release it at the right moment. It asks for technique and rewards those who have it.
Loops. Tuned for single and heli loops. Compared to the XR and XR Pro the loops are less aggressive but the radius is cleaner and more predictable. The smaller sizes still handle double loops without losing control.
Materials, and details you notice on the water. CoreTex 2 Triple Ripstop canopy — triple reinforcing thread and CORE's own coating. A single valve built into the leading edge, with strut hoses and valves 33% larger, doubling flow for much faster inflation and deflation. The highest-wear zones on the front tube and struts are covered with Kevlar patches.
Who it is not for. Beginners, and anyone riding relaxed freeride: it is rated from advanced and the whole construction exists for extremes. For all-round riding look at the NXS; for waves, also the NXS.
