Description

The Air is a light-wind kite for riders who want a session rather than a record. Where the Air Pro is built to win, the Air is built to ride: same sizes, same wind, but simpler and considerably more affordable.

Safety first. Like the Pro, the Air flies only with the Sensor 4, Sensor 4 Pro, Sensor 4S and Sensor 4S Pro. It has a fixed bridle, and only the SFS+ system will flag such a kite out completely if you release. With an older Sensor 3S bar, this is not your kite.

The main difference from the Pro is material. No Aluula here, but CORE's long-proven ExoTex 2 dacron. It stays low-stretch even under heavy load and holds high tear strength. On the water that reads as easier upwind, explosive lift and defined turning behaviour — simply without the extreme rigidity you pay separately for in the Pro.

An honest word on wind range. The Air and the Air Pro have the same one: 15 m from 8 to 20 knots, 17 m from 7 to 19. So paying up for the Pro to "get going earlier" buys you nothing. The difference is character and materials, not the wind speed at which you get on the water.

Three struts and a stretched outline. The combination gives you the power of a high-aspect wing with the lively steering of a three-strut frame. At 15 and 17 metres, the difference in turning speed against five-strut designs is at its most obvious.

Where it sits in the range. CORE place the Air precisely between the XR LW and the Nexus LW: more powerful and stable than one, calmer and more accessible than the other.

Who it is for. A beginner who needs a guaranteed session on a light day. And an experienced rider as a second kite for windless spells — CORE call it a training booster for freestyle and airstyle riders.

Who it is not for. Anyone chasing maximum height in light wind and willing to pay for Aluula. That is the Air Pro.

In the box and behind it. Backpack, manual, repair kit. Parts guaranteed available for at least six years from purchase.

In the Mui Ne shoulder season this is the difference between sitting on the beach and riding. Official CORE dealer, worldwide shipping.

K1 instructor's take
“We ride this gear ourselves and teach on it. The main thing is picking the size for your weight and wind: bigger in light wind, smaller when it blows. If you're unsure, message us — we'll put together an honest setup, no upselling.”
