Description
The Air Pro is a light-wind kite built without the sluggishness the class is known for. The brief is simple: not merely to get going in ten knots, but to jump in it.
Safety first, because it matters here. The Air Pro may be flown only with the Sensor 4, Sensor 4 Pro, Sensor 4S and Sensor 4S Pro bars. That is not marketing: the kite has a fixed bridle, and only the SFS+ system on those bars will flag it out completely in an emergency. The Sensor 3S and older models will not. If you have an older bar, this is not your kite.
Aluula and a thin leading edge. Aluula's stiffness allowed very thin leading edge and strut diameters. Thinner diameter means less drag, which means a faster kite. In light wind that is the whole game: the kite's own speed generates the pull the wind is not providing.
Three struts at 15 and 17 m. A wing that size normally turns slowly and heavily. Three struts instead of five give markedly livelier, more direct steering — and on what CORE themselves call the giants, that difference is at its largest.
A profile built for light air. Computationally optimised: maximum camber for low-end power, with the high point of the section moved rearward to improve drift. It does not stay slow, either — loaded up, the Air Pro comes alive enough for freestyle.
Relaunch. A more swept leading edge and reduced tip area. On a 17 m wing, easy water relaunch is not a detail — it is the difference between a session and an ordeal.
Details you come to value. Grintex patches on every segment seam of the leading edge and struts, protecting the most abraded areas on any surface. The Speed Valve 2 sits inside the leading edge rather than protruding. And separately: CORE guarantee parts availability for at least six years from purchase.
Who it is not for. Beginners — it is rated from advanced. And anyone wanting a calm light-wind cruise: CORE make the standard Air for that, while the Pro exists for riders who want to jump when it is barely blowing.
