Ozone Apex V2 Kiteboard

The Apex V2 is a hydrofoil board for kite foilers who want stiffness, response and a compact shape — and it doubles as a one-board solution for dock-start pumping and tow foiling.

Stiffer through its length. The V2 is thicker and has more volume than before, and Ozone used that extra depth to add a lot of stiffness, which a modern foil board needs. The key shaping work was making the board stiffer along its whole length, so it feels more responsive when pumping or carving.

More forgiving. The outline was updated and the nose rocker increased to forgive touchdowns. Together with a relatively large surface area towards the front, that makes take-offs and transitions easier. Despite the extra thickness, the Apex remains light and is still considered a low-volume board, so you can tip it on its side for easy strapless water starts.

Mast connection. A custom full-carbon foil track replaces the old deck washer system, giving a stiff, secure connection with a generous range of mast positions to find your balance point. The core is high-density foam with a hybrid carbon and fibreglass lay-up, bio-based epoxy and a polymer resin rail. A large EVA deck pad has front and rear arch bumps and a wide tail kick, and M6 316 stainless inserts allow strapless riding or a three-strap V set-up. Straps, titanium M6 T-nuts and the board bag are sold separately.

Who it is not for. Ozone says the 125cm is ideal for progressing intermediates and can be a first kitefoil board for agile, experienced kite fliers. If you are a complete beginner to foiling, a bigger, more stable board is a gentler start. Wing foilers need much more volume than a kitefoil board offers.
