Description
The Code is Ozone's one-board solution — the twin-tip you can hand to almost any rider in almost any conditions. The V5 is a refinement, not a reinvention. Ozone kept the accessible feel that made the V4 popular and worked on the flex: there is more response and pop, as if the whole flex pattern has been recharged, and the ride feels looser and more skate-like underfoot.
On the water that means edging grip that is easy and secure without becoming tiring, and upwind performance that is quick. The board balances light weight for comfort with enough swing weight that it still feels positive under your feet. Ozone's team riders describe it as smooth and reliable, from finding the vertical take-off to absorbing hard, fast landings.
The construction is an A-grade Paulownia core laminated with biaxial fibreglass and UD carbon for the balance of flex, response and strength. The epoxy is bio-based (35% plant-derived), the rail is a flexible polymer resin that resists impacts, and the inserts are 316 stainless steel set in polymer blocks — strong enough for powered riding and boots. Two fin options let you choose: 45mm for maximum grip when edging and boosting, 35mm for freestyle with boots or a freer, looser feel.
Who it is not for. If you want a specialist board — maximum control at very high speeds and in big chop for big air, look at the Torque V4; for light wind, the Infinity V4. If you are just learning to water start, the softer, more forgiving Element will make life easier.
Choosing. The Code is the board we recommend most often as a riders' first "real" twin-tip after the beginner stage. Tell us your weight, level and spot and we'll suggest the size.
