Flysurfer CONNECT Control bar

The CONNECT³ is the control bar for the PEAK and HYBRID kites — teaching, touring, snow and mountain trips. What sets it apart from the rest of the Flysurfer range is one thing: it converts from four lines to five.

What the fifth line does. On release the bar travels up the fifth line, gathering the kite and bringing it down without generating power. That is the B-Safe system. On four lines it runs conventional front line safety (FLS). Converting takes a few steps and is done by hand, no workshop needed.

An important limit, stated plainly by the maker. The PEAK is B-Safe ready. The HYBRID flies on the 4-line FLS setting only. Do not mix them up: B-Safe needs a high front-line split and a thin, low-drag line, and the HYBRID does not have that.

Three widths for kite size. S 47 cm — HYBRID 2.5/3.5 and PEAK 2.5/4.0. M 52 cm — HYBRID 5.5/7.5 and PEAK 5.0/6.0. L 60 cm — HYBRID 9.5/11.5 and PEAK 8.0/11.0. Weights 1.04 / 1.08 / 1.12 kg.

14 or 21 metre lines. Supplied as 14 m plus 7 m extensions. Short when space is tight: teaching on a narrow beach, a slope, a confined site. Long when you want the full travel and power.

Colour-coded bar stick. Orange left, blue right, a continuous beige element separating front from back. A small thing that saves frustration rigging in the dark or in falling snow. EVA grip, non-slip in wet or cold hands.

Adjustment. The depower line is 45 cm, sized specifically for the PEAK and HYBRID. Steering lines adjust on the knot ladder beneath the floaters; the Clam Cleat adds another 20 cm of depower travel.

Quick release. Push-away, compliant with the French AFNOR/ISO standard. Developed for water, land and snow — not a throwaway line, snow is a normal working condition for this bar.

Who it is not for. SOUL, SONIC, ERA, STOKE and INDIE owners — those want the FORCE³ or FUSION. The CONNECT is built around one specific pair of kites.
