Description
Rob Machado made the Go Pad for his Too Fish and Seaside, but it suits any fast, wide fish.
The critical detail is the fit. A swallow tail narrows into its crutch, and an ordinary shortboard pad either falls short of the edges or sits over the leash plug. The Go Pad is cut to the swallow and leaves the plug clear.
Two ways to run it: four pieces with a tail kick if you want something to brace against, or two flat pieces without a kick if your foot should move freely. The second is closer to how a fish actually gets ridden.
Made from BLOOM algae foam.
Who it isn't for. Wrong shape for squash and round tails — take a standard three-piece. And it's wide for a narrow performance shortboard.
