Description
An updated Machado Go pad: narrower and shorter by a quarter inch, now in three pieces. The flat profile without an arch is a deliberate Rob Machado choice — on his boards the foot should move freely rather than lock into one spot.
The 27 mm power kick braces the back foot through a turn. The tread is a diamond groove for extra grip.
On the material: the pad is made from BLOOM foam based on algae. The algae are harvested from waters where blooms damage the ecosystem and turned into flexible foam. For a surf brand that's consistent rather than greenwashing: the gear is made from what harms the water the whole thing exists for.
Who it isn't for. Anyone used to a pronounced arch — a flat pad gives less feedback about where your foot is. On a wide fish tail the reduced width may not reach the rails. And strip an old pad off an epoxy deck in warm weather.
