Description
The pad came from two requests at once. Slater asked for an additional cutaway on the arch. The brand's Instagram followers asked for an arch pad with square tread rather than diamond. This is both.
The cutaway logic is the interesting part — they aren't decorative, they're zoned. In the back third they sit where your foot works through a hard bottom turn. In the first two thirds, circular and parallel cutaways are placed for pumping, when the foot stands noticeably further forward.
Square tread is the most sensitive pattern: maximum feedback from the deck at the same grip level.
Made from BLOOM algae foam.
Who it isn't for. Anyone used to diamond tread: square feels less grabby for the first few sessions even though it holds just as well. And a three-piece pad is narrow on a wide fish.
