CrazyFly Pure Kiteboard

The Pure is a pocket foil board — very short, minimalist and extremely light. CrazyFly says that at 88x43 cm, with its full deck pad, it weighs 1.58 kg, which makes it the lightest foil board in the world.

Who it's for. Upper-intermediate riders who already know how to stay up on a foil, through to experts who want the smallest and lightest board possible. It is excellent for pump foiling and dock starts — small size and low weight make pumping much easier — and experienced riders appreciate the low weight in jumps and how little space it takes when travelling. It works with or without straps, and with a back-foot hook.

Construction. The Air Inside wood core has hollow sections to cut weight; the carbon is cut by machine but laid up by hand; Carbon Touch construction skips the top and bottom sheets. The concave deck, strong carbon and short length keep it stiff, so it responds instantly and feels solid. A full deck pad is fitted, and the closed-top inserts mean no screws poke through the deck — the foil mounts with four screws.

Numbers. 77x43 (1.4 kg), 88x43 (1.6 kg), 99x44 (1.8 kg), 115x44 (2.0 kg), weights including pads. Stance 35 cm. One mounting position for foils with a 165x90 mm mast head; screws must not go more than 5.5 mm into the inserts. The 88 and 99 float with all CrazyFly foils; the 77 floats with all except the Cruz 690.

Who it is not for. CrazyFly is clear: the mid-height nose avoids pushing water but needs skill to recover a touchdown. This is not a beginner's foil board. Check your foil's mast plate before ordering — ask us if unsure.
