Description
The EDGE MIDLENGTH was drawn by John Amundson, whose name carries the weight in downwind that a marquee shaper's does in surfing. The idea is hybrid DNA: the glide of a full downwind board in something closer to prone dimensions. Hence the positioning — one board for parawing, waves and downwind, without swapping between disciplines.
The midlength outline lifts early but steers more precisely than a long downwinder and turns tighter. Volume and length are reduced against a dedicated downwind shape to speed up take-off. The nose is kept full, which improves paddling and softens touchdowns. Bevelled rails and a clean tail exit keep the board balanced rail to rail.
Sizes: 50 L (5'6" x 19"), 75 L (5'8" x 20"), 85 L (6'0" x 21"), 100 L (6'6" x 22") and 120 L (6'10" x 23"). Full carbon, EVA deckpad included. If you're buying the PYRO, this is the board built around it.
Who it isn't for. Freestyle winging — the length gets in the way. Anyone wanting one board to learn on: narrow midlengths ask for confident balance at the start. And riders chasing maximum glide in pure downwind, where a longer dedicated shape wins.
