Description

The Xlite fuses two kites from the range: the power of the Nexus all-rounder and the drift of the Section wave kite. One strut instead of three makes it 30% lighter than the Nexus, which isn't a heavy kite to begin with.

Weight here isn't about carrying it. A lighter canopy starts flying earlier and falls out of the sky less in lulls — and on a foil the lulls are constant, because the board outruns the wind and the kite keeps ending up under-powered.

Twelve sizes, from 2 to 13.5 m². That spread is unusual: the small sizes exist for strong-wind foiling, where 4 m² is already a lot, and the top end is for riding in near-calm.

Materials: a CoreTex 2.0 canopy with improved tear resistance in both directions, and ExoTex Light on the leading edge and strut.

Who it isn't for. Wrong choice for jumping: a single-strut kite doesn't hold its shape under shock loading. In Mui Ne during the season at 20+ knots it will mostly sit in the bag — its time is early mornings and the shoulder season.

K1 instructor's take
“We ride this gear ourselves and teach on it. The main thing is picking the size for your weight and wind: bigger in light wind, smaller when it blows. If you're unsure, message us — we'll put together an honest setup, no upselling.”
