Nobile Horizon Kite

The Horizon opens Nobile's premium line and is the first kite in it built on an all-new construction. The brief is deliberately broad: one three-strut kite for everyone, from beginners and schools to freeride and big air.

The hybrid construction delivers three things you usually have to choose between: hang time, low bar pressure and quick response. Low bar pressure isn't about comfort — your forearm isn't cooked by the third hour, so you don't start making tired mistakes on a long session.

What it's made of. Leading edge and struts use German Dimension Polyant dacron — a stiff fabric that holds the kite's shape under load. The canopy is Japanese Techfiber, triple ripstop with a UV-resistant coating. Bladders are German. Kevlar reinforcement at wear points, a double canopy layer on the trailing edge against flutter, and canopy protection around the strut connections.

On the seams: the leading edge closing seam is double-folded, all segments are taped, and stitching uses A&E threads. Those are the places a kite fails first, and they've had the attention.

Who it isn't for. Anyone who needs a specialist: pure wakestyle wants a stiff C-shape, record big air wants five struts. The Horizon is an all-rounder and will lose to a specialist at either extreme.
