Description

The Slicer is CrazyFly's performance answer to light wind. Most light-wind twin-tips are heavy and dull; the Slicer uses the brand's most advanced full-carbon lay-up to stay extremely light for its size, so the board responds instead of plodding.

Getting going early. The light-wind outline with rounded tips maximises surface area, and the flat rocker with an inverted outline squeezes out as much low-end as possible. The carbon construction and Step Cap deck keep the board stiff enough to hold its designed rocker in ultra-light wind.

Upwind, as the name says. Hand-finished rails give precise edging, and the fins sit asymmetrically — on the heel edge of the tips and in the centre — so they stay in the water all the time and keep the board tracking upwind.

Comfort. A fine-tuned medium flex (650 and 600 on CrazyFly's 0–1000 scale) makes it comfortable in chop. CNC wood core, Fusion sidewalls, invisible inserts and carbon fins, made in Europe.

Numbers. 154x44 weighs 3.0 kg, 160x44 weighs 3.2 kg. Stance 37 or 41 cm.

Who it is not for. CrazyFly aims it at intermediate and advanced riders. A 154–160 cm board is not a strong-wind or freestyle board. If you want the same low-end at a lower price, the fibreglass Cruiser LW plans even earlier but weighs more.

In a quiver. The Slicer pairs with a big kite for the light days. Tell us your weight and we'll tell you which length makes sense.

K1 instructor's take
“We ride this gear ourselves and teach on it. The main thing is picking the size for your weight and wind: bigger in light wind, smaller when it blows. If you're unsure, message us — we'll put together an honest setup, no upselling.”
Sergey Alesenko — IKO Instructor L3, founder of K1
