Five Versions of the Naish Pivot: 1,225 to 2,451 Euros for One Model

Within one model Naish offers five positions spanning a twofold price range. That is more than the gap between different models at many brands. Here is what the money buys.

The key point: purpose changes with version

These are not one model at five prices, and the manufacturer's own descriptions prove it.

Base Pivot and Q Series — "freeride and waves".

LTD — "freeride and high jumps".

NVision — "waves and high jumps".

LW — "freeride and light wind".

So a premium construction does not simply mean "better" — it shifts the kite's character.

Hence "jumps" on the LTD and NVision: a consequence of lightness rather than a separate development.

Q Series: the cheapest step, and the clearest

The gap between the base Pivot and the Q Series is 263 € at the smallest size, with the same stated purpose.

The same purpose at a different price is a rare and unusually clear case. Here you pay for construction rather than a change of character: the same kite, better materials.

That is what we call an honest step: the difference is real but it does not change what the kite is for.

Who it suits: anyone riding a lot who is limited by wear or weight rather than by character.

LTD and NVision: where specialisation starts

The LTD starts at 1 549 € in only six sizes: 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 m².

Six sizes instead of eight is narrowing towards a job. There is no 6 and no 14 — the ends of the range. Logical: jumping uses the middle.

The NVision runs from 2 451 € in eight sizes, stated for "waves and high jumps". The brand's ceiling.

The gap between LTD and NVision is 900 €. That is the point to stop and ask what exactly nine hundred euros buys.

The honest answer: less weight, more stiffness, longer cloth life. You will feel it if you ride a hundred days a season. At twenty days, unlikely.

LW: a separate story

The Pivot [Q]Series LW is one size, 17 metres, at 2 101 €.

Not a construction tier but a separate job — light wind. The same logic as the Ozone Zephyr: the model exists in one size because a smaller one does not do the job and a larger one becomes unmanageable.

Note: Naish also offers the Boxer at 16 metres for 1 908 €. Nearly 200 € apart for one metre of area. If light wind is your main condition, compare both: the Boxer has a wider range, the Pivot LW a turnier character.

Choosing in under a minute

A first kite, or one per season → the base Pivot. Its purpose is exactly freeride and waves.

Riding a lot and wanting the same model better made → Q Series. The clearest premium.

Jumping → LTD, but compare it with the Psycho, where jumping comes first in the stated purpose.

Waves plus jumping, a hundred days a season → NVision.

A 10 to 13 knot spot → LW or Boxer 16; compare both.

Not sure → base. You can grow out of it, and the 1 226 € gap to NVision is a board or a second kite.

On suffixes generally

Naish is not unique: Duotone has SLS and D/LAB, North has Pro and Ultra, F-One has TEC and BRAINCHILD, Ensis has ACE.

The logic is the same everywhere: lightness and materials. What differs is whether the brand also changes the stated purpose along with the construction.
