Description
The Vortex V2 Ultra-X is for riders who want to feel completely connected to the kite. Three struts and an Aluula airframe make it stiffer, sharper and permanently more switched-on than any dacron-framed kite.
The comparison with the Reflex explains the character best. Aluula barely twists under load, so the Vortex holds its shape across the whole wind range and travels through a slightly wider loop — but with more drive and more pull. The higher aspect ratio brings faster forward flight and a noticeably bigger top end.
That famous second lift at the peak of a jump, and the reliable catch on the way down, are more pronounced here than anywhere else in the Ozone range. Height and hangtime are exactly what this kite is bought for.
In exchange it asks for a more committed, faster riding style — think stiffer suspension: more response, less forgiveness. Its light weight and direct handling also make it an excellent foil kite. Sizes 5–17 m.
