Description
UPF 50+ is a measured figure: the fabric passes less than one fiftieth of the UV. For a child in the water it's more reliable than sunscreen, which washes off and never gets reapplied on time. Nylon and elastane, flat locked seams — on a long sleeve the seam runs down the inside of the arm, exactly where the body rubs the board while paddling.
A cap sleeve covers the shoulders — the first place to burn, because they face straight up all day. The arms stay free and it doesn't get stifling in heat.
The fabric stretches both ways and dries almost instantly. Cut for children, without squeezing.
Who it isn't for. The forearms stay bare — for a full day under tropical sun take the long sleeve. No warmth. And it isn't meant to go under a wetsuit.
