The Shock Traction Pad is cut for the Hyperloop FSP Pro deck. The key word is Shock: this pad exists for cushioning as much as for grip.
In freestyle the landing arrives through the board with the rider's full weight. The extra layer absorbs that impact, working both ways — protecting the rider's joints and the board's deck.
Grip isn't sacrificed for it: the texture holds your foot at the moment of takeoff, when the load pulls upward.
