The Elips is GONG's wave kite — and that isn't marketing copy: Airton won in Dakhla on it.
The defining quality of a wave kite is drift: the ability to travel downwind on slack lines without falling out of the sky. While you ride the wave the kite doesn't pull or interfere — it simply waits above you. The Elips's drift is described as magical, and that's exactly what wave riders pay for.
A higher aspect ratio buys upwind and glide. Square tips add manoeuvrability: the kite pivots where you want it to instead of describing a wide arc.
Canopy is triple ripstop at 55 g/m² — the weave stops a tear from propagating.
