The Strutless is GONG's strutless kite, a long-standing in-house concept rather than a recent fashion.
There are no struts at all — instead three optional fibreglass battens you can fit or remove. The layout delivers what people come to strutless kites for: glide, a wide low-end range, upwind performance and easy relaunch.
The number that matters: it flies in as little as 3 knots. Those are the days everyone else spends on the beach watching the flag.
Primarily a foil and freerace kite, but it works well on a twin tip too — and jumps better than the construction suggests.
Stated plainly: in strong wind a strutless kite is no match for a three-strut. This is a tool for the calm days, and that's its value.
