Description
The Ayto is GONG's five-strut kite for big air and kite loops. The brief is crystal clear: height, hangtime and committed loops.
Five struts exist for rigidity. A stiff frame doesn't collapse when the load comes off — and that is exactly what happens at the top of a jump and through a loop. It's also where the top-end control comes from: the kite holds its shape when a three-strut has begun to deform.
The Aramid frame uses UPE aramid at around 85 g/m², half the weight of dacron. DP reinforces the trailing edge with Dacron DP175LL against flutter — the failure that ends most kites.
