Flysurfer SHOT Kiteboard

A big air board and nothing else. No carbon by design: at 3.04 kg it is deliberately heavy so it holds you down in strong wind. Stiff flex, medium rocker, double concave, 40 mm channels. Two sizes. Intermediate to professional.

Description

The SHOT is a big air board and nothing else. Flysurfer put it bluntly: no carbon, no excuses. That is not cost-cutting, it is a position — carbon buys lightness, and in strong wind lightness works against you.

Weight as a spec, not a shortcoming. 3.04 and 3.06 kg, noticeably heavier than a normal twintip. The weight is tuned for strong wind: the board stays planted through a gust and keeps you connected on board-offs where a light board simply leaves.

Stiff flex. The board stores energy while you edge and releases it at take-off. That is where the explosive pop and the crisp feedback in the air come from. The trade is real: in light wind and relaxed riding that stiffness does nothing for you and will feel like too much board.

Medium rocker. A deliberate compromise: planes early, runs smooth at speed, handles chop calmly. For stormy, overpowered sessions it is exactly right.

Double concave and channels. The concave absorbs the impact of a landing from height and stops you catching an edge on a fast descent. Bottom channels guide the water flow and, with the 40 mm fins, deliver grip on a loaded take-off.

Adjustable pad position. Multiple insert options: shift the stance for edge grip on powered take-offs, or centre it for landings after board-offs.

Who it is not for. Beginners — it is rated from intermediate. And light-wind freeriders: that calls for a light board with softer flex, so look at the RADICAL⁸ or the FLOW. You buy a SHOT when the jump is the point of the session.

Sizes. Two: 132 x 40 cm from 50 kg and 135 x 41 cm from 60 kg. 45 mm fins. One colourway, Mellow Yellow / Dark Turquoise / Cool Grey.

In the box: the board, 45 mm fins, SQUAD Pro pads and straps, SQUAD grab handle, assembly instructions.

In Mui Ne during the windy season this board comes into its own. Send us your weight and level and we will tell you honestly whether it is your board. Official Flysurfer dealer, worldwide shipping.
