The Choice 7 is a board for riders who jump. There is no attempt at all-round here: everything serves edge grip and release at take-off.

Five sizes, but effectively two boards. This is the key thing when choosing, and CORE state it outright. The 134, 136 and 138 are tuned for big air: maximum edge grip and explosive pop. The 140 and 142 lean additionally towards unhooked freestyle — slightly harder flex, a more elliptical outline. Shape and rocker are tuned per size rather than scaled from one blank.

Choose by style, not only by weight. Riders chasing height are better off on a smaller size: less air resistance in the jump and easier board-offs. Freestylers in boots usually want the larger boards instead.

Rail channels and angled fins. Channels run along the rails and the fins are set at an angle. Together they deliver the grip that lets you load the edge hard before take-off — without which a high jump does not happen.

Unibody Edge Light. The wood core is wrapped entirely in carbon, giving a closed torsion box with no soft zones. That is where the rebound and the pop come from.

The Orca Pro option. Separate fins with a curved profile designed around the Choice's channel geometry. The purpose is singular: load the edge even harder. You buy them to squeeze out the last few percent.

Who it is not for. Beginners, and anyone riding for pleasure: a stiff board with aggressive grip demands technique and punishes sloppy edging. For freeriding, the Era; for versatility with a sporting bias, the Fusion 7.
