Description
Hands go cold first and stop working first: fingers that won't bend can't hold a bar or clip a leash. A glove fixes that at the cost of feel — the trade-off is unavoidable, and choosing thickness is choosing where to sit on it.
Two millimetres is the working middle: the hand still feels and no longer seizes up. For cool water it's the most versatile thickness.
Who it isn't for. In genuinely cold water a mitten beats a glove: fingers together stay far warmer. Fine motor work is still worse than bare-handed. And size to your hand — a loose glove floods and stops working.
