Free Flex is built on two neoprenes: base W1 and the super-stretch Ultra 360. The stretchy one goes where movement is needed, the base one where insulation is. Seams are glued and blindstitched (GBS), so the needle never passes fully through the neoprene and water doesn't wick through the stitching.

Five millimetres means cold water, and two things matter most: stopping water circulating inside, and not losing your grip. The first is the Dry Seal cuff, which seals against the wrist so each stroke doesn't flush cold water through. The seams are additionally sealed outside with liquid tape.

The second is the raised rubber print on the palm. In a thick mitten the board slips away — not because your hand is weak but because wet neoprene slides on wet wax. The texture puts the grip back.

A mitten rather than a glove is a deliberate choice: fingers together stay far warmer than fingers apart. Dexterity is the price.

Who it isn't for. Anyone needing fine motor control in the water — clipping a leash or adjusting a harness in a mitten is genuinely awkward; take a glove. For cool rather than cold water, 5 mm is too much; there's a 3 mm. And size matters: a loose mitten floods and stops working entirely.
