Description
HIPE is GONG's inflatable board range for wing foiling and SUP foiling. An inflatable solves two problems a rigid board can't: it fits in airline luggage, and it shrugs off hitting a reef or a boat. The old price for that was flex — but Woven Dropstitch construction with a composite plate has closed most of that gap.
The HIPE Learn is the learning board with the gentlest path. Unlike a classic wing board, you can sail it on the water without getting on foil and still work your way upwind — it behaves like a windsurfer with a centreboard.
The practical value of that is rarely stated plainly: it removes the beginner's real fear, drifting downwind with no way back. You can learn wing handling and foiling as two separate skills instead of both at once.
