Description
HIPE is GONG's inflatable board range for wing foiling and SUP foiling. An inflatable solves two problems a rigid board can't: it fits in airline luggage, and it shrugs off hitting a reef or a boat. The old price for that was flex — but Woven Dropstitch construction with a composite plate has closed most of that gap.
The HIPE Like is about getting up early in light or gusty wind. It picks up speed quickly and lifts onto the foil sooner than the rest of the range, so there's far less pumping involved.
The trade-off is worth knowing up front: the board is narrower and demands better balance. Not a first-day board — you need your footing already.
Its natural home is flat water: a lake, a lagoon, a sheltered bay where the wind is light and uneven.
