Description
The Ultra is a single-strut kite for foil, freeride and waves. One strut instead of three means less weight, and for foiling that decides everything: you ride slowly and in light wind, and a heavy canopy simply drops. The Ultra stays up where a three-strut kite is already on the water.
DS stands for Double Surface — a two-skin leading edge. A normal edge is a tube with air flowing around it; a double surface has a profile above and below and works as a wing rather than a pipe. The direct consequence is higher aerodynamic efficiency: more power for the same wind and longer time in the air.
The rest is Team specification: a narrow high-pressure H2 Ultra PE edge and the Load Frame.
Who it isn't for. This is a complex, expensive structure built for one job — foiling and light wind. School, rental and strong wind want the standard models. And a single-strut kite is fundamentally wrong for unhooked freestyle.
