Description
The Ultra is a single-strut kite for foil, freeride and waves. One strut instead of three means less weight, and for foiling that decides everything: you ride slowly and in light wind, and a heavy canopy simply drops. The Ultra stays up where a three-strut kite is already on the water.
The fifth Team version: the proven single-strut geometry plus a narrow, high-pressure leading edge in Ho'okipa Ultra PE.
High pressure in a thin edge is how you get stiffness without bulk. A thick edge is stiff but heavy and draggy; a thin one under pressure gives the same stiffness at less weight and less drag. The Load Frame holds that structure together under load.
Who it isn't for. Rental and school use — wrong kind of service. Strong wind and big air want three-strut models. And a beginner won't recoup the difference over a standard Ultra.
