Description
The Ultra is a single-strut kite for foil, freeride and waves. One strut instead of three means less weight, and for foiling that decides everything: you ride slowly and in light wind, and a heavy canopy simply drops. The Ultra stays up where a three-strut kite is already on the water.
The fourth-generation Team: Ho'okipa cloth on the leading edge and strut delivers, per the maker, a 25% weight saving. Diameters are reduced and the profile is stiffer.
Twenty-five percent is a lot. On foil and in light wind canopy weight decides whether the kite flies at all, so a saving like that changes the usable range rather than the feel.
Load Frame and WebTech spread the load across the canopy — without them a thin edge would fold.
Who it isn't for. School and rental fleets: a lightweight build is dearer and needs more care. Strong wind and jumping want other models. And this is a previous generation — we confirm available sizes before payment.
