The Foil Skate solves a specific problem in moving to foil: ordinary foil boards are tall and voluminous, and someone who has ridden twin-tips all their life feels unsteady on them. The Foil Skate is a twin-tip in shape and stance, so the start feels familiar.

The key difference from a foil board is that it sits lower in the water. That makes launching easier: you don't balance on volume, you simply get going as on a normal board and let the foil lift.

The core is hardwood. In a foil board that isn't about weight but about stiffness and survival: the foil inserts feed loads into the board that a twin-tip never normally sees, and a soft core gives up there first.

The foil inserts are low-resistance and the fins are removable, so the board also rides without a foil as a normal directional.

Who it isn't for. Racing and high-speed foiling need a purpose-built board. If you have never ridden a twin-tip, the shape advantage doesn't apply. And no foil is included — this is a board, not a package.
