CrazyFly Boards 2026: The Whole Range From Acton to Raptor LTD

CrazyFly lists 18 boards in our catalogue, which looks like a forest at first glance. In fact the range is built very logically: it is one ladder with five rungs, and each step buys you a specific thing. Here is what.

The five rungs

• Acton — 349 €. Starting out and progression: soft and forgiving.
• Cruiser LW — 461 €. Light wind: 154 and 160 cm, fibreglass.
• Raptor — 573 €. Carbon, medium flex, freeride and freestyle.
• Raptor LTD — 783 €. Full carbon, 2.4 to 2.7 kg.
• Raptor Extreme — 839 €. Big air and freestyle, full carbon.

Rung one: paying for flex

The difference between the Acton at 349 € and the Raptor at 573 € is primarily carbon, and carbon here does not mean better — it means stiffer.

Stiffness delivers strong pop and a precise response. It also transmits chop straight into your knees. For someone learning that is a downgrade, not an upgrade — which is why the Acton is not a cheap Raptor but a different tool.

The threshold is simple: you jump consistently and can feel the board failing to give back when you load the edge. Before that point, carbon is money spent for nothing.

Rung two: paying for weight

The Raptor weighs 2.8 to 3.0 kg, the Raptor LTD 2.4 to 2.7. About 400 grams apart, and 210 € apart.

Worth it? It depends what you do. In the air a lighter board rotates faster and pulls less on your legs — you feel it in spins. In ordinary freeride the difference barely registers.

A practical rule: if you are not spinning, board weight is the last thing worth paying extra for.

Rung three: paying for specialisation

The Raptor Extreme is the most expensive board in the range, and it is not "a Raptor but better". It has a different job — big air and freestyle — four sizes instead of five, and a weight of 2.9 to 3.2 kg, meaning it is heavier than the LTD while costing more.

The reason is that big air does not reward low weight but the ability to take the load of a hard landing from height. Those are different engineering problems, and the Extreme solves the second one.

A branch of its own: the Cruiser LW

The Cruiser sits outside the ladder because it solves a different problem: light wind.

Sizes 154 × 44 and 160 × 44 cm, weight 3.5 to 3.7 kg, built in multiaxial fibreglass rather than carbon. The fibreglass here is a deliberate choice: a light-wind board needs area and softness rather than stiffness, and carbon at those dimensions would add price without benefit.

Sixteen centimetres over an ordinary twintip is a large gain in area. The Cruiser planes where a 140 is still sinking.

Riding confidently, jumping, want one board for everything → Raptor. This is where most people stop, and they are right to.

What the range does not have

Honestly: CrazyFly means twintips. There are no directional wave boards or foil boards in the range, and if that is what you need, look at other brands in the board section.

On 2025 and 2026 in the catalogue

We carry both model years. Season-to-season changes at CrazyFly are evolutionary — panel layout, finish, graphics — rather than structural.

If you see last season's model cheaper, it is usually the best buy in the range. A 2025 Raptor at 559 € against a 2026 at 573 € is the same weight and the same discipline.

Which CrazyFly board is the most universal?

The Raptor. Medium flex and sizes from 135 to 143 cm cover freeride, freestyle and early jumping.

Should a beginner buy carbon?

No. A stiff board passes your mistakes into your knees, and at the learning stage there are plenty of mistakes.

How does the LTD differ from a standard Raptor?

Full carbon and 2.4 to 2.7 kg against 2.8 to 3.0. You feel it in rotations; in ordinary riding, barely.

Do I need a separate light-wind board?

If your spot typically gives 12 to 15 knots, yes — and it will buy you more riding than a second kite.

Do the boards come with bindings?

CrazyFly twintips ship with bindings and pads. People usually only add a bag and spare fins.
